Intercessors you're called, but have you yielded?

Have you been perplexed by a lingering thought, feeling or focus of prayer? Maybe it shows up in your mind, or heart. Personally, I feel it in my stomach. It's something you haven't been able to shake. It can be strong and persistent but if left unattended, weakens over time.
Here's the thing - Prophets and prophetic people are marked and identifiable by a strong and vibrant prayer life. Our whole purpose is to be yielded vessels, yielded ears and mouthpieces who wait for the instructions and decrees of the LORD and strategically and obediently carry them out.
Oftentimes the LORD calls each of us to varying short or long-term duty assignments, leading us to arise early or stay up late, change the ebbs and flow of our daily activities and habits, to watch or guard, to see or say, to carry the pressing need or burden of the LORD for a situation, person, people group, state or nation.
Seriously, what a tall order! What an honor to partner with heaven over kingdom business. So, if you are reading this newsletter, you've already recognized the call, the burden of the Lord.
Ezekiel 3:17-19 says:
"Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, 'You are under the penalty of death,' but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me."
So, dear Prophet or prophetic person, our only response is to respond to the assignment of the LORD - the one currently pressing on the inside of you, even the one you may have neglected to pick up, steward and birth out.
A Prayer for the Prophetic
Father, I pray for those reading this newsletter today. Thank you for loving them in such an unrelenting way. Thank you for the call and plan You have for their lives. Thank you that You've already equipped them for the assignments You've predestined for them to do. Thank you that they do hear You and are led by Holy Spirit.
I pray that they would stop vacillating about whether it's You calling them to pray or not. I thank You that they understand the gravity of their assignment. Your word clearly says You search for us - out of many You could choose to repair the wall, lives, nations and stand in the gap before YOU on behalf of others.
Lord, I thank You that both understanding and activation to respond to the burden comes now. I cancel every assignment of guilt that comes to impede, sabotage and stagnate their obedience to watch and pray, to see and say.
I declare a new urgency and alignment. I declare that their ears are open and attentive to Your every command and like Jesus they will testify that "my will is to do the will of Him who sent me." I pray they will see this as an extension of Jesus' declaration: "I only do what I see My Father do and likewise only say what I hear Him say."
Lord, let this be each of our testimonies as we do Your will. Amen.
Reflection Questions:
What burden has been pressing on your heart that you've been hesitant to act on?
How is God calling you to adjust your daily rhythm to accommodate His assignments?
Where do you sense Him asking you to stand in the gap through prayer?
Remember: The burden of the Lord isn't meant to weigh you down - it's meant to move you forward into your prophetic assignment. You know what I mean?
