When seasons shift in the natural, nobody questions it—we just grab our coats or shed our layers. But in the spirit? That's where the enemy plants doubt. And even we begin to question.
You've felt the winds changing in the spirit. You've sensed transitions before others saw them. Yet you've questioned yourself: 'Am I really hearing God, or is this just me?' That prophetic sensitivity isn't random—it's purposeful and necessary for your spiritual journey.
While others celebrate the harvest, you may already feel the first spiritual frost. That's not overthinking—that's your prophetic gift at work. The real question isn't if seasons are changing—it's whether you'll trust the spiritual discernment God specifically designed in you to navigate these shifts.
Your ability to recognize what others don't yet see isn't weird—it's necessary and a normal part of your spiritual growth. It's time to stop apologizing for your spiritual sensitivity and start walking in it, knowing that you are not alone in this experience.
I remember my first prophetic awakening and how I used to feel so out of place or off, especially in church services. I recall thinking, why is everyone shouting and praising God when we should be lamenting, weeping, and repenting?
I used to feel like I was just the opposite of the crowd. If they were up, I was down; if they were down, I was up. I have never mastered having a poker face, so when I was experiencing this, it was pretty obvious, even when trying to mask it.
I never had any articulation of what I was experiencing, but I knew it was God and not demonic. Despite constantly questioning myself and inwardly battling my desire to be like everyone else, "a normal Christian," I couldn't hide that something was going on.
I would try to explain to my friends what I was experiencing, and many times, they would make slight jokes and tease me because of the depth of my understanding. Suddenly, I started to see things on a deeper level. Suddenly, my connection to God's creation became more evident. As a matter of fact, that is where I felt the most peace—away from everyone.
I say suddenly because I wasn't always an introvert or highly sensitive. Growing up, I was on all types of dance teams, a cheerleader, even a cheer captain, and a social butterfly.
But once my prophetic awakening happened, it was like it caused some sort of separation for me. My prophetic awakening made me realize just how different I was. See, I never minded being the one who dressed differently or didn't easily fall into peer pressure. As a matter of fact, I used to pride myself on being the kind of person who marched to the beat of my own drum. But I didn't like it as much when the prophetic became more evident.
While my friends didn't mean any harm—or at least I don't think they did—it affected me. So I found myself going through cycles of thinking I could turn off my prophetic…. Boy, I found out the hard way that gifts come without repentance. Let's just say I could even sin right. And if I did, it didn't really last long. Conviction was on a thousand.
Over time, I had to learn and embrace that I was different; God was setting me apart, and I was chosen. If you can relate a little to what I just said, I propose that you, too, are prophetic, and today, I want to share 5 Unmistakable Signs You're Entering a New Prophetic Season. I would say prophetic awakening, but over the past 20 years, I have gone through several, so for the sake of this newsletter, I am going to say season. Remember, this journey leads to growth, purpose, and alignment with God's plan for your life.
Prophetic Season: A divinely appointed period in your life characterized by specific purposes, challenges, and opportunities. It's a distinct timeframe where God orchestrates particular experiences, growth, and assignments tailored to your development and His larger purposes.
Unlike calendar seasons, prophetic seasons aren't fixed in duration—they shift according to divine timing rather than human scheduling. Each season carries its own spiritual climate, lessons, and required responses, creating a rhythm of preparation, action, harvest, and rest in your spiritual journey.
For those with prophetic sensitivity, seasons aren't just experienced—they're discerned before their full manifestation, allowing you to align with God's purposes before they are fully revealed to others.
5 Unmistakable Signs You're Entering a New Prophetic Season
Sign #1: Increased sensitivity to the Spirit
Your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit becomes sharper. You begin to obey His prompting more frequently without much resistance or vacillating in your mind. You begin to question Him less and move out by faith. In these seasons, you will find that your obedience is really increasing because you seemingly "know" what God wants you to do. This sensitivity will also make you more empathetic and compassionate toward people as the Holy Spirit begins to burden you with prayer and encouragement for others.
Sign #2: Shifting relationships and connections
This one can seem so difficult because it will almost appear abrupt. Friends that you've had for years are no longer your friends. Sometimes, events cause this, and other times, they don't. Sometimes, these relationships just seemingly fade. Like nothing happens. No offense, no drama; the connection just slowly faded. And for whatever reason, either party doesn't fight to keep the relationship.
The same goes for connections. You may be connected to a church or ministry, and everything seems right. Then, all of a sudden, it's like the rug was pulled under your feet. Sometimes, it may be because of an offense; other times, it may not. Either way, all of a sudden, the connection is cut.
This one sometimes comes with a lot of heartache because you least expect it. But I promise you, if the LORD is behind this orchestration, you will truly see that it will work out for your good.
Sign #3: New dreams and visions with recurring themes
You may have been someone who doesn't usually recall your dreams, but out of nowhere. BOOM, you are remembering them in every detail. The same applies to visions. You may have gone through a season where your dreams and visions slowed down or seemingly stopped, and then they are back on and coming out of nowhere. But then, to take it up a notch, there may be a recurring theme. Because the Holy Spirit is giving you insight into what is coming ahead. He's preparing for something greater than you.
Sign #4: Divine discontent with your current spiritual routine
This one is often misunderstood. Here is where many believe something is wrong with them. And trust me, sometimes it is. But in this case of divine discontent, it's the Holy Spirit causing this. Suddenly, your devotional, church, worship, and intercession aren't hitting the same. You don't feel the way you used to, etc.
I want to tell you it's the Lord calling you deeper. I remember this simple quote my Apostle gave that helped me be ok with being called "deep," She said.

Those of us who are "deep" just know Him a little bit more than the average person. So, when you become discontent with your regular spiritual routine, I want to tell you that it's time to go deeper and move in closer so that you can hear him at another level.
Sign #5: Unexpected confirmations from multiple sources
When the prophetic season you're entering requires a physical move—whether to another state, town, region, or city—you will receive unexpected confirmations. While dreams and visions are common forms of guidance, confirmation often comes from unexpected places.
My Personal Example: Moving from Florida to Louisiana
Let me share how the LORD orchestrated my family's relocation from Florida to Louisiana: We initially went to Louisiana for what seemed like a simple Resurrection weekend trip. Unexpectedly, we got stuck because of an accident on the only bridge that served as the single way in and out of the area.
That evening, I spoke with a Pastor whose friend had just listed his house for rent in April. The rent was approximately 60% less than what I had been paying in Florida. We went to see the home, and the landlord made an incredible offer: if we put down a deposit, they would hold the property rent-free until we moved in July.
To be quite honest, we didn't have sufficient funds for the deposit. However, one of my spiritual daughters called me with a message. She said, "I drove through a green light, and the LORD said, 'Green light, GO.'" She then generously sowed the deposit money to us.
That same day, we signed a simple one-page lease—no credit check, no proof of income, nothing required. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure what more confirmation would be necessary. That's what unexpected divine confirmation looks like.
I want you to understand this biblically. Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares, "To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Just as natural seasons change with divine precision, so do spiritual seasons, often marked by signs and shifts that require discernment.
Understanding your increased sensitivity to the Spirit reflects the principle found in John 10:27: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." As you grow spiritually, your ability to recognize His voice sharpens, empowering you to move confidently.
Remember, the relationship shift echoes John 15:2, where Jesus says, "Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit." God strategically prunes connections to align you with His purpose.
Recurring dreams and visions are illustrated in Genesis 41, where Joseph received prophetic insight through Pharaoh's dreams, which revealed a coming famine. The repetition was not random—God confirmed His plan (Genesis 41:32).
Then, the divine discontent mirrors the hunger described in Matthew 5:6: "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." When familiar spiritual routines feel unsatisfying, it's often God's invitation to deeper intimacy.
Lastly, unexpected confirmations are seen in 2 Corinthians 13:1, where Paul states, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." God often affirms His direction through multiple sources to strengthen your confidence in His leading.
By recognizing these signs and grounding them in Scripture, you align yourself with God's divine timing, ensuring you move in faith and not fear. Trust that each shift is part of His master plan, working "all things together for good to them that love God" (Romans 8:28).
I need you to know that if you are experiencing signs of a new prophetic season, no matter how hard or dark it may seem, God is going to see you through it. You may be afraid of the unknown but remember this one thing.
God Knows what you don't;
I want to encourage you by sharing with you what held me through every prophetic season. That is my prayer life. I have had to learn that prayer is the only thing that would keep me. Whether it was praying for myself or interceding for others. Those who hurt me betrayed me, and those who would help and rescue me. God requires us to pray for both. Prayer is the one space where I can guarantee God will speak to you if you only listen. That is where he tells you how to prepare for the season ahead.
👋 Bye now!
